Il feltro è un tessuto che non si fa intrecciando un filato con un telaio, con i ferri da calza o l'uncinetto, ma lavorando la lana cardata (non filata) con acqua calda e sapone, usando le sole mani. Si massaggia, si pressa e si modella anche in forme tridimensionali, senza bisogno di cucire.
Le fibre della lana si "intricano", si restringono e danno vita ad un materiale forte e spesso oppure sottile e leggero, seguendo la volontà di chi lo lavora ma anche la natura stessa della lana.
Il risultato è sempre unico ed irripetibile.
Alcuni oggetti sono realizzati con una tecnica che permette di unire il feltro ad altri tessuti, come la seta, senza ricorrere a cuciture.
Ciò che si ottiene è un materiale morbido e leggero chiamato "nuno feltro".

Felt is a material which is not woven, to make it you don't use a loom, it's not knitted or crocheted but it's made by working carded wool (not spun) using only your hands along with the help of hot water and soap. You massage it, press it and give it shape, even three-dimensional, with no need to sew.
The wool fibres intertwine, shrink and give life to either a strong and dense fabric, or a thin and light one, they follow the will of the person working it but also wool’s own nature.
The finished result is always unique; each piece is one of a kind.
Some items are made with a technique that allows you to join the felt to other materials, such as silk, without resorting to stitching. What you obtain is a soft, seamless, light and smooth material called "nuno felt".
